Research interests

    • local and regional development problems in Poland during its integration with the European Union,
    • the role of aid funds, including Structural Funds, for local and regional development processes in Poland,
    • consequences of the implementation of a new model of the Polish regional policy,
    • the state of and changes in the labour market during the socio-economic transformation,
    • municipal marketing in local self-government activities in Poland,
    • standards and conditions of living.

Paweł Churski

Doktor habilitowany (post-doctoral degree) in Earth Sciences in the field of Socio-Economic Geography. Professor of AMU and Collegium da Vinci.

Publications and research: eight monographs, editorship of 23 collective works, over 150 academic articles published both in Poland and abroad. Participant of many national and foreign conferences. Manager and member of many research teams, including the projects financed by the State Committee for Scientific Research, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and National Science Centre. Manager and participant of research and teaching projects financed from structural funds within competitions.

He has the pleasure to use the results of his research work for the needs of, e.g., the Ministry of Regional Development, Marshall Office of Wielkopolska in Poznań, Poznań City Hall, Marshall Office of Lubelskie Voivodeship in Lublin, Marshall Office of Podkarpackie Voivodeship in Rzeszów. He was a member of the Steering Committee for the organization of the Conference of the International Geographical Union KRAKÓW 2014. He has the honour and pleasure to work in the Committee for Spatial Economy and Regional Planning of the Polish Academy of Sciences as its Vice-President. He is a member of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP) in which he sat on the Council of Representatives. He is in the group of the Founders of the European Regional Studies Association − Polish Section and the Spatial Management Association. He operates in the Academic Union for the Development of Spatial Management Faculties as a member of the Executive Team where he coordinates work for the improvement of teaching programmes. He is a reviewer for the National Science Centre and National Centre for Research and Development, and a reviewer for many publishing houses and journals, including Regional Studies, Papers in Regional Science, European Planning Studies and Biuletyn KPZK PAN (Bulletin of the Committee for Spatial Economy and Regional Planning, Polish Academy of Sciences), Studia KPZK PAN, Studia Regionalia, Prace Geograficzne IGiPZ PAN (Geographical Works of the PAS Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization), Studia Regionalne i Lokalne (Regional and Local Studies) and many others.
